Federal Resources Maritime Technical Services Group Becomes Authorized Subcontractor To BAE Systems

This subcontracting business opportunity allows Federal Resources to perform work repairs such as welding and pipe fitting for Navy ships.  Federal Resources is the exclusive distribution channel and service center for Hellan strainers and hose reels and Megator pumps. To acquire this authorization FR’s Newport News Maritime Division developed and documented numerous procedures specific to their location and processes including an operation manual, safety plan and becoming NAVSEA 90 90-310 and 0009-04 compliant with all elements of ISO 9000:2008. “Our recent successful completion of the VSRA Quality Assurance audit was a necessary step to qualify as a subcontractor to most of the areas private shipyards, and most significantly the last step to qualify as a subcontractor to BAE Systems. BAE Systems is the largest area shipyard with a MSMO contract.  We are now positioned to successfully market our unique skill-sets as the Hellan OEM to BAE Systems and other shipyards in the area,” said Allen Trombley, Operations Manager- South Atlantic Region. This authorization relays to all ship association members, and other yards that Federal Resources’ quality assurance meets their performance standards.
