GreyScan ETD 100

SKU: GreyScan ETD 100 Categories: Detection, EOD, GreyScan Tag: GreyScan ETD 100 Brand: Greyscan Explosive Trace Detector
  • Description

World’s First Compact Inorganic Explosive Trace Detector

GreyScan offers the next generation in high sensitivity explosive trace detection for inorganic explosives. Inorganic compounds are being increasingly used to fabricate home-made explosive devices, due to ease of their acquisition and lack of availability of military explosives. Governments globally are searching for forward-looking solutions that meet the changing demands of the modern threat landscape. The GreyScan unit provides accurate, sensitive and rapid detection of inorganic explosives, extending current capabilities. This technology has widespread applications for a variety of security and military applications.

The GreyScan system utilises Capillary Zone Electrophoresis (CZE) technology for the separation and analysis of samples. The underlying principal of this separation method is similar to Ion Mobility Spectrometry, except the separation occurs in an aqueous phase rather than in the gaseous phase. The CZE detection method does not require the use of a radioactive source, removing the need for time-consuming radiation testing or transportation licenses. This makes it an environmentally friendly and safe solution for trace explosive detection.

The GreyScan system provides the high-resolution detection capabilities of a laboratory system in a field robust and compact unit. Featuring a lightweight design, the unit is highly portable, and can operate on internal batteries thereby allowing for operation in multiple environments. The system has been designed for continuous throughput of samples, with a rapid analysis time of less than 30 seconds.

Designed for ease of use, the GreyScan system workflow aligns with current security concept of operations. The system follows a similar user operational process to existing ETD systems, allowing for ease of integration into existing local security procedures. The GreyScan system will be available as a stand-alone device, focusing on the detection of inorganic explosives. The core GreyScan module will also be available for OEM integration with IMS or MS platforms.

GreyScan utilises low cost consumables, with sample collection occurring through the use of a sample wand or a disposable sample trap. The unit features a sample port design which provides compatibility with existing sample traps available on the market.

GreyScan will provide a secure maintenance and support service to ensure high quality product performance and reliable detection results.

GreyScan will extend current security capabilities, providing rapid, sensitive and accurate detection of inorganic explosives.
